lakerks
Please offer advice on what I should be doing about writing course descriptions at this point (as ds is completing 9th grade). Is there a place where I could view samples and/or get an idea what needs to be included? What will I end up doing with these descriptions? (I know I'll need to prepare a transcript, but I've also heard that college admissions people aren't going to want to weed through a huge amount of detailed info.) Thoughts/experiences? Ds has yet to decide which colleges he's interested in, but he definitely wants to go. He's our firstborn, so this is new for us. Thanks for any insights you can share. snowbeltmom
My oldest is a rising sophomore, so I have no first hand experience. You may want to join the yahoo group hs2coll. If you go to the files section of the group, you will find many examples of various ways of documenting the high school years for the college admissions process. Good luck. angela in ohio
I'm in the same place you are, and Lee Binz's book Setting the Record Straight has been very helpful. It's the only "homeschool high school" book that I've read that actually has helpful information on this. She has an entire chapter on writing course descriptions.
