Jackie in NE
Tell me about it, please. Before I spend $48.00 on it, I'd like to get some idea of what's inside! Thanks! Jackie

Tarheel Heather
Tell me about it, please. Before I spend $48.00 on it, I'd like to get some idea of what's inside! Thanks! Jackie Ds did Calvert last year and for 48$ it isn't worth it, my opinion. It is basically a fill in the blank timeline of what they have read. TracyR
I agree. We use Calvert through a cyberschool. So I haven't had to pay for it . I wouldn't buy it . Calvert is a terribly overpriced curriculum . Bascially the workbook is an outline of each chapter and they fill in the blanks. Granted it does help my daughter remember some of the facts when she writes them out . It does contain some hands on activities and word searches . HOnestly you can go to the library find activities to go with each time period you are studying or even better yet just do a lapbook and you'll get more out of then with the workbook . Totally not needed for this history program .
Another Lynn
Jackie, If I remember right you're trying to find ways to adapt VP. I'm not at all pushing SOTW over CHOW (I really like CHOW for the most part), but (and I forget where you are in the history cycle - starting over with a younger one?) SOTW vol. 4 AG has outlining "worksheets" in the student pages. It would be even cheaper to get just the student pages (rather than the whole AG, if you didn't want the rest of the AG). But you may be several years away from Modern and I'm pretty sure the other volumes of SOTW don't have this. FWIW....
Tammyla
We used Calvert here. CHOW was very well received. The workbook is not necessary. If you are looking to teach outlining, it's an easy option. We loved the book, the workbook...was fine for outlining.
