pooh bear
My ds is going into 6th grade and even though he reads and spells very well, I have noticed that he is starting to have problems reading and spelling longer, more complex words. He learned to read using the sight method, and we have never done spelling. What can I use to go over the rules of phonics with him? Is there something that covers phonics and spelling at the same time?
Kathie in VA
Megawords covers spelling, vocab, and reading starting at 4th grade level. It focuses on longer words.
burleygirl
How To Spell covers phonics and spelling. The teacher's manual is How to teach spelling. I am using it with my 11 year old nephews (Book 3) and my 8th grade daughter (Book 4). Book 3 is 4 - 6 grade and book 4 is 7 -12 grade.
