How many credits to count this as?

If dd does 2 lightning Literature courses and at least the grammar portion of a textbook how many credits do I give for completion of it all?

I'm mean. No matter how much writing, lit, and grammar my dd does each year, I count it as one credit. She probably honestly has enough for two or more, but I count it all as one credit of Honors English.

At Hewitt's website, each high school level Lightning Lit. program is listed as a 1 semester course, so that accounts for the Literature and Writing portion of a credit of English. However, a high school English credit also typically includes grammar as well as writing and literature as part of the credit, so it sounds like what you have listed would add up to the three parts that go into making 1.0 credit of English.

 

If you did some additional literature (or additional work in the language arts area), then you would count it as Honors English, as Angela suggested.

 

Or, if an additional writing program (or a large volume of other literature) was also done during the year, then you could consider counting that as 1.0 credit of English and count the additional writing as a 0.5 credit for Composition, or the additional literature as 0.5 credit for Literature.

1 it is then. Dd has absolutely no desire or ambitions to do honors level or AP courses. She has certain interests that she is willing to put effort toward but most are not academic. (And we overloaded on literature this year so I'm paring it way back for next year.)

I'm meaner. I don't even give honors credit for any class we do ourselves.
