Dina in Oklahoma
Hello Hive ~ I am going to teach lit analysis to a group of 12 middleschoolers using Teaching the Classics this fall. I am working out how to structure the class and just wondered if anyone has suggestions or ideas for making it participative other than straight discussion. THANKS! Laura in STL
I am using TtC next year with my two dc for lit analysis. We are planning to go through about six books. I have a couple friends who may join in with us to make six middle schoolers. I bought one of the DVDs for the Center of Literature(Wind in the Willows) to get us started, then hopefully we will be able to recreate on our own. I previewed the DVD and love it, but it is mostly question and discussion. What other types of participation are you looking for? I'm thinking I might have them do IEW writing projects and read aloud to the group. I'd love to hear ideas for anything else as well!
