Good but grueling day (Update on Day 1 at Drs.)

Recommended Posts

I was in Dr's offices for 8 hours today. Whew! I am so beat. It is amazing that someone can be so beat after sitting most of the day.

Basic synopsis:

Met with Dr. Had some baseline tests done. Tests showed what I already knew from real life: I am much healthier than I was a year ago. Tests also showed a probable latent dental infection from where I had a root canal done before. This would explain the constant sinus and other infections I've been having since bacteria can get into the bloodstream.

Was declared healthy enough for chelation therapy. Basically they put in an iv of stuff that pulls the mercury out of my tissues and then helps me to (literally) flush it away. That was a 3 hour process. I had a very nice nap in a comfy armchair. I was warned that this could make me pretty sick. So far I'm feeling just fine, though I did have a minor, non-itchy rash for a while.

Gave up some more of my very fine hair for testing.

The receptionists moved heaven and earth to get me into a biological dentist today on short notice. A biological dentist is a specialist in dental problems that cause health problems. The biological dentist did x-rays and other tests that confirmed a strong probability of a latent infection. This would be #1 priority to address. He said that the pericarditis I had this last winter is often caused by dental infections. The dentist's receptionists are planning on trying to move heaven and earth to get me into an oral surgeon tomorrow for a CT scan. This would give definitive proof of an infection if there is one.

Other comments on my day:

I've never been more "Sweetie'd" and "Darling'd" in my life!

I heard my first "Bless your heart"! (It was not referring to me.)

I had some very nice bbq and splurged on a "brownie ala mode" for dessert.

My family (who is camping is in a no cell phone dead zone.) I really miss them.

I loaned it to my mercurial friend. Get it? Get it? :smilielol5: (I crack myself up)

:smilielol5:You crack me up too! :D

I am so happy to hear that they are "moving heaven and earth" to help you out. That is soooo wonderful. I KNOW that does not usually happen. I think someone is watching out for you! ;) So glad to hear! Still praying for you and more and more healing! :grouphug:

Oh Jean, how wonderful that so much is being accomplished in a short time, since you're not exactly right around the corner from home. Sounds like getting that dental infection fixed will do a world of good. Hope they will get you scanned and maybe even treated tomorrow.

I am rather jealous that you also perhaps have a remote control and several dozen cable tv channels all to yourself.

As brutal as your day sounds... we were at homeschool testing in Redmond today. This happened less than half a mile away. Power went out before the last test session. All the kids were interested in were the pretty orange flames and the black smoke. Getting home again was... awful.

Hope the doctor is able to help you!!

Can you believe that I have not turned on the t.v. once? I love the blessed silence!!!!!

Thank you, everyone, for the hugs and encouragement.

Elizabeth - wow, your kids had an eventful testing day!

It's morning - still no bad effects from the detox, though I am exhausted and achy. I really want to do nothing today.

I'm a bit conflicted on whether I want them to get me in today for that dental CT scan. I'm not conflicted on getting it taken care of soon. I just spent time googling and there are 22 biological dentists in my state and I'm sure at least one of them must be good at what he/she does. So right now, the "moving heaven and earth" makes me feel obligated to do what they want me to do here instead of possibly waiting and doing it closer to home. Oral surgery (which would be the next step if the CT scan confirms infection) is hard enough as it is, without having to fly 2000 odd miles the next day.

:hurray:

Things are happening, SWEETIE!

I don't want to sound really idiotic (more than usual) but isn't it great they found the reason for all the miserable years you had! A latent infection! Golly! I got up this morning to find some (good) news from you - and here it is!

Yes! One more piece to the puzzle that is me. Of course I haven't gotten results yet so it's not 100% sure but I am very glad that I'm getting answers. One of my fears was coming all this way and having them shake their heads and say, "We don't know. . ." My last Dr. at home "fired" me because she just couldn't think of anything more to check out on me.
