sdstren
I was just wondering what all of you use / do for pronunciation with this curriculum. I have used LC I and the pronunciation CD has spoiled me. I am trying to figure out how I would teach Latin without some kind of audio.
Laura Corin
The first is that there is a pronunciation guide at the beginning of the first book. I haven't found it hard to follow. The second is that a pronunciation CD has been recorded, but there is, as yet, no announcement about when it will be available. Best wishes Laura
Cindyg
It's a real struggle for those of us who like an audio component. Maybe it has to do with your learning style whether the lack of the pronunciation CD bugs you or not. It bugs me a lot. Since you have survived LC1 and their pronunciation CD is probably ringing in your memory, it will no doubt help you pronounce the LP words. After all, they are the same words or at least the same word patterns. Just tonight I decided to start listening to the LFC DVDs (which I already own) just to get the sound of the language in my head. Sigh. mazakaal
We did LC I and part of LC II, so I'm hoping that I'm not too far off, but I don't worry about it too much since no one actually speaks the language any more.
Jenny in Atl
There are also a number of sites online with classical audio you can listen too. Here are just a couple. http://wheelockslatin.com/chapters/introduction/introduction.html http://latinum.mypodcast.com/2008/01/I_ENJOY_READING_YOUR_COMMENTS_SO_PLEASE_LEAVE_ONE_They_also_help_me_improve_the_site-23630.html
