dorothy
I want to buy our books for our new school year and DH just surprised me with a $100 Amazon gift card! I am so pleased. :) Please help me spend it. We are doing SOTW 4 next and I have the TWTM list and some others, but I have to narrow it down to absolute favorites for this time period. Please give me only your MUST READS for 1850-today with a 5th grader and 3rd grader. Or, also feel free to let me know about something else available on Amazon for those ages that is a must have. Thanks!!

Pink Fairy
I love Hilda van Stockum's "The Winged Watchman." I HIGHLY recommend the Beautiful Feet books by D'Aulaire and the Genevieve Foster books. Are you looking for historical fiction, or will any good-to-have homeschooling books interest you? Books that I own and love include the "Let's Read and Find Out" science series and the "MathStart" series. These would be geared more toward your 3rd grader, but my 5th grader likes them too.
