LizzyBee
My middle dd will be 12 yo next week and she wants more legos. Where can I find sets made with girls in mind??? Thanks!
Jean in Newcastle
Have you looked at lego.com? I've seen some pretty girly sets (but can't remember their names). I think the more traditional house building ones are more marketed to girls too. And of course some girls like the "Harry Potter" sets and the "Star Trek" or "Star Wars" sets too! Storm Bay
We didn't end up buying sets just for girls, although they were given some from relatives--with pink and purple legos, etc. If you go to the lego website you'll find a lot of variety. Boys are the larger market, but I also think many Lego playing girls are happy with gender-neutral legos, too. As for me, I'm a bit tired of wading through Lego's to put ds to bed;). My kids just got more Legos for their birthdays...
CalicoKat
My middle dd will be 12 yo next week and she wants more legos. Where can I find sets made with girls in mind??? Thanks! My dd just spent her free time for the past 3 days working on a set of legos that have extra stuff for house building. They're not pink or purple. But she loves building houses, barns, etc. for her Pollys. Something like this but tons cheaper at Walmart. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-2821504-1507005?ASIN=B000JXQQ24&AFID=Froogle&LNM=B000JXQQ24|LEGO_House_Creator_Set&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B000JXQQ24&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001
umarider
Another good option is "Ellos" I think they were made by the same company that makes Legos. I don't think they're made anymore, but we picked up several sets about a year ago off of eBay because both dds loved the freedom that Ellos gives to create. Ellos combined w/ Legos can really let a kid create some cool things. An added bonus is that you can fit a lot of Ello pieces in a zip-top sandwich bag, so they are a frequent companion when we travel to places where the kids may have to amuse themselves. Stacia
Lego Belville. My dd has a set and is hoping for more for her birthday. Also, in the past, I've come across some 'girly' sets at yard sales & such. If you're looking for something that's not currently out (like all those cool windows & such that they used to make when I was a kid), BrickLink is a great place to find extras or old sets.
