HappyGrace
I am new to both Google books AND my Kindle-lol! I'd like to put some of those great old-fashioned grammar books onto my Kindle. Thanks!
Hathersage
look for those google books here: http://www.archive.org/index.php They usually have files kindle can read. I must warn you however, the formatting is bad, but most are readable to some extent. you could also use calibre to convert other e-books to a format kindle can read. Hathersage
And don't forget, you can email doc files to your kindle, with convert in the subject line...(if for instance you wanted to put KISS grammar instructional manuals on your kindle). Elizabeth in WA
you could also use calibre to convert other e-books to a format kindle can read. You can also use Mobipocket creator to convert pdf files into a format kindles can read. The resulting document varies greatly in quality however, depending partly on whether the pages end up reading properly as text or being included as pictures. The kindle 3 can read pdfs, but it is very tiny print.
NoPlaceLikeHome
I am confused. I thought Kindle was able to read PDFs.

Hathersage
Can you enlarge the print with PDFs? No. In order to do that, you have to convert the pdfs, and it doing that, the formatting can get quite wonky. That said, sometimes it is still readable. You might get a page number in the middle of your text, but again, it varies. Some of those scanned books are really awful, though. The pdfs are fine, if you are looking for a backup, just to scan what you need to print out, etc.
