ereks mom
We bought a TI-84+ Silver Edition in 2006 (I think). One of the features of the TI-84+ was that it comes with a cord which you can use to connect the calculator to a computer and download updates. We've never done that, but recently when I was shopping for another, non-graphing scientific calculator for myself, I ran across this online: "The latest TI-84 Plus operating system 2.55MP update features MathPrint™ and is available to download free for TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition graphing calculators." I ended up buying myself a TI-30XS, and it has MathPrint, which I really like. It allows users to "input and view math symbols, formulas and stacked fractions exactly as they appear in textbooks." I would like to have that on the TI-84+. If you own a TI-84+, do you update yours? Is there any reason why we would not want to update ours? If we update and then don't like the new operating system, is there a way to delete it and restore the original one? And finally, assuming I decide to update, can someone walk me through the steps for connecting the calculator to the computer and downloading and installing the update? Or is it self-explanatory? I just don't want to ruin a $120 calculator! Edited May 15, 2011 by ereks mom
