Denainms
I am going to my convention Friday and I would like to do a study on The 50 states and capitals, the presidents and patriotic(our flag, star-spangled banner, songs etc.) I can't think of a curriculum or guide that would cover these things as a whole, is there one? Thanks Dena in MS
JudoMom
I bought this workbook at Sam's Club and it covers the presidents, the government & how it came to be, and the 50 states.

Parrothead
I bought this workbook at Sam's Club and it covers the presidents, the government & how it came to be, and the 50 states. I bought that a couple of weeks ago from Sams. I'm thinking I'll do one or two presidents and one or two states a week. (I haven't started mapping out the year with that book yet) When I run out of presidents I'll do the little section on the government. I hope I can find some extra information to go with the workbook via the 'net.

AudreyTN
I don't know how much you're wanting to invest, but we just started Adventures in My Father's World. It covers everything you mentioned. We've just started it and will continue with it after our little vacation! :001_smile:

cbollin
MFW Adventures is a great program, but it doesn't cover all the presidents. :) In MFW's other US history program they sell a set of Presidents cards that you can use too with whatever else you have. And grab the state sheets they have. Nice way to add to some notebooking. -crystal
Hillcrest Academy
You could try Cantering the Country by Geomatters (they have a ton of great geography resources) or if you wanted something much more in depth and all inclusive, you could try Adventures for 2nd or 3rd grade by MFW (www.mfwbooks.com)
