8filltheheart Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Just thought I would share my favorite piece of parenting wisdom. My 2 yod had diarreha yesterday and by late afternoon her bottom was so sore that she cried if you even went to pick her up. I was slathering her in Desitin, but it really wasn't helping. I sent my dh to the store last night to buy liquid Mylanta. Just pouring a little on her bottom last night and again this morning has her bottom looking almost normal again. I am incredibly thankful to the friend who shared this advice with me many years ago......thought I would pass it on. Quote

8filltheheart Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 I'm curious: why does it work? I believe it is b/c it is an antacid (a base) and neutralizes the acid which causes the sore bottom. Quote
