1st form Latin problem and Wheelocks need ADVICE

Recommended Posts

Hello-

My sophmore boy is a solid A- student in all of his humanities and English classes. Math he is a B+ right now.

He took Wheelocks through Lukion Project last semester (Fall) and got 89%. Which is a B+ according to my grading scale. Now he was taking 1st Form Latin through Memoria Press materials but at the co-op we use. He started in Jan. His final exam grade was an A but yet his semester grade was 71%. Something is NOT right. Wheelocks at Lukion is much harder than the MP 1st form. In fact my son said it was way too easy....

My options:

I either throw the latin grade out and go with 89% for 1st semester and start a new semester with a review of 1st form this summer.

Throw out the latin grade and use 89% Lukeion grade for the whole year which numerous people told me that Wheelocks Lukeion Latin 1A is really Latin 1 for one year.

Son is very dissappointed in his grade. He couldn't believe he got a 71% when he got an A on his final exam. This now brings another option....

He got an A on his final exam so I could possibly use this grade as his 2nd semester grade??

Or should I just see if Lukeion is doing Latin 1B this summer and then start Henle??? What number Henle? We are doing Latin at home or online wtih Lukeion.

Help!!!

Holly
