Need Biology course that includes digital labs (dissections)

I did a google search for the type of lab I needed. froguts.com is excellent and cheap. $30 a year. What biology book are you using? We are having a bad time with Apologia.

She won't dissect unless it's virtual.

:bigear: We're finishing Biology and I had just made up my mind to skip dissection and cast the class more as Life Science. Virtual dissection might to the trick though. And somewhere I recall hearing about a Jell-o frog kit that you can sort of dissect. Maybe I'm imagining it though..

(Now how's that for a weird subject line? LOL)

We used Froguts this past year - our subscription expires in a few weeks - and it has been excellent. We just replaced the regular dissection labs with virtual, and other than that we didn't have to make any changes to the curriculum we used.

This is good to know! We are using BJU Biology, and an owl pellet dissection in the fall was enough to put dd16 over the edge. This from a girl who thinks she wants to go into nursing. :001_huh: Anyway, the look on her face when I told her what dissections would be required for biology resulted in us skipping those labs, with the plan being to do them over the summer. This might be a better option.

Meanwhile, ds14 has been begging me to order a cow eye ever since the owl pellet session. He wants to be a graphic designer at this point... Maybe they need to swap career aspirations!

Thank you for the information on froguts - it looks great!

Here are a couple more virtual dissection links (both free):

McGraw-Hill Virtual Frog Dissection: http://www.mhhe.com/biosci/genbio/virtual_labs/BL_16/BL_16.html

Miller and Levine's virtual dissections (look at lower right side of page for the links): http://www.millerandlevine.com/intro.html

And I thought I'd throw in this link to McGraw-Hill's virtual labs: http://www.mhhe.com/biosci/genbio/virtual_labs/
