lynn
Give me your best advice. I plan to stay home as much as possible. We have the chair and lots of panties ready. I will not use pull ups. I do not plan to offer bribes err:glare: rewards (this child doesn't respond to m&m's for sitting on the potty she wants the whole bag now. (just like mom:D)) all ideas or suggestions welcome. Wish me luck.....:001_huh:

THis sort of thing is pretty out of character for me, but I was a little...okay, a LOT done with diapers. You'll be in my prayers. :001_smile: Let us know how she does! amyable
I have no real advice, just adding that I'm in the same boat - starting tomorrow. For all our kids we've waited until they hit three, said "three year olds don't wear diapers" (actually, we play this up for months beforehand) and then just wing it from there. It's worked pretty well three times so far. This kid's a little(!) more stubborn though, so we'll see. I wish you the best of luck!!
Sena
We shut ourselves into the kitchen, lots of drinks and a potty chair. If my child wasn't having any success before naptime, we'd break and try again in a few weeks. My boys were all potty trained by 2 1/2, my daughter was the difficult one, she potty trained just shy of 3. They are all so different, I wish you quick training! Parrothead
I worked in a child care facility when I was in college. I took care of the toddlers. So although I have only one child I potty trained close to 30 kids. I don't think the Pull-up type diapers do much to promote potty training. Timing (the child's) works best. If they haven't mostly figured out the process within two or three days then they aren't ready. Lots of praise and lots of extra "potty pants" on hand are the best things for potty training. Oh, and if it is warm enough to run around with only a shirt and training pants that helps. No extra stuff to take off when your in a hurry. Good luck. jail warden
:iagree: We also stayed in the kitchen with tons of liquids and a potty chair. My littlest did take a few weeks with BM training, but we no logner have that problem!!! This worked really well, my last one was pee trained in a day! runningirl71
I trained my dd this past January when she was 2 1/2. What I found worked for me was putting a cloth diaper in her panties. That way, if she did have an accident it didn't go everywhere, and it made her feel uncomfortable. She didn't like the bulk. She was ready and by the 2nd day she didn't have any accidents. She has been fully trained now for 2 months or so, meaning she doesn't wear a diaper at night anymore.
Brindee
http://www.potty-training-in-one-day.com/how-to-do-it/ You can look at this site. It has steps. On the right side there are other books with the same idea. My sister did one of this "in a day" methods with her kids and it worked! My oldest did fine with it. My younger two took a little longer---maybe I didn't do it right? I dunno....
Country Girl
Just wanted to say, add me to those who are starting tomorrow with our dd. I told her tonight I threw away all of her diapers and so tomorrow there will be no more diapers. With my 2 ds, we went cold turkey like this too. My oldest was the easiest but the middle was only a little tougher and took a couple of days. I agree that the pull-ups don't help (although I do use them at night for awhile). My other two felt so uncomfortable when they got wet that they learned very quickly that they didn't like it. I hope dd will be as easy. On the right side there are other books with the same idea. My sister did one of this "in a day" methods with her kids and it worked! Hi! I used this method with 2 of mine and 2 day care kids. Worked great! Best of luck to you all. I will be helping our newest daycare toddler adjust this week to our house. She's 3 and she's 'mostly' trained already. But I expect this week to have several accidents. We shall see! Blessings to all these little ones getting bigger! Christy

Guest Shanna
Can you come to my house when you are done?
Brenda in FL
My number one advice - dress her in a dress and nothing on her bottom! That will save you the frustration of having to change several pairs of panties that she chooses to wet - just after you have had her sit on the potty seat and she chooses not to go. Have her potty seat nearby, and it helps if she can be playing somewhere that you will not mind if she has an accident. For my dd - she was outside playing. We had an unsuccessful morning until I decided not to put clean panties back on. Then 5 minutes later - she was at the door telling me she needed to sit on the potty!! We kept this up for a couple of days at home - and voila! Potty trained!! Best of luck to you!!
8filltheheart
I'm starting today with our 2 yod as well!!! I pulled out the potty chair yesterday and she actually did use it a couple of times. She is excited by the idea. I have been telling her for a couple of weeks that she can't where diapers anymore in the summer b/c she can't wear them in the pool. (I refuse to buy swimmies this summer!) Pool opens in 2 weeks. ;) I have trained all of my other kids in one day. All but one stayed dry through the night within a couple of days of that. We'll see how it goes this time.....they are all so different.
MomofSeven
worked for us. First I'd give them to her everytime she went successfully. Then when that bag was gone, I figured she was done with the reward. But now I've reinstituted the M&Ms to reward her for staying dry through the night. Yes, I give my 2 yo candy for breakfast. But hey she stays dry!
