If you are familiar with homeopathics (espec. for allergies), can you please read?

I just bought Hyland's homeopathic Complete Allergy Relief For Kids for ds's seasonal allergies that just started this year. It has things like Sabadila, Allium Cepa, etc.

 

For a homeopathic remedy like this, do I need to be sure I am giving it to him every four hours constantly, or just give it to him when he needs it? I am just learning about homeopathics, so I'm still unfamiliar if you use it constantly or symptomatically. Thanks.

You can give it to him when he needs it. (As in when he's going to need it - like before he goes outside.) It will not help in the middle of a bad allergy attack but will help hold one off if you've taken it beforehand.

Thanks, Jean. So maybe in the morn before he goes outside, and then what about at night before bed? He sneezed all night last night after being outside yesterday (with no meds).

 

So doesn't need to be in his system constantly then, it sounds like.

Have you or he ever used a sinus rinse? We like the Neil Med system - you can get it at a drug store. I would suggest rinsing his nose after coming in for the day. It gets all that pollen out and would actually be more effective at keeping him from sneezing all night.

We have the Neil Med neti pot and it makes his nose bleed badly :( I was so hopeful that it would help! We do spray his nose with a store bought saline spray though, so that's better than nothing. This allergy stuff is all new this year to him. I had another thread about it.

 

We did end up starting him on Nasacort this morning too.
