mamato3 all-boy boys
...I have to zoom over to the ball field to pick up ds to drive about an hour to ceremony. My friend who is getting naturalized just called and saw in the paper that is said, "proper attire." So, do I throw everyone in a pair of khakis and call it good? In The Great White North
The boys can wear khakis and a polo shirt. I'd wear at least "business casual,' maybe even a suit.
chiguirre
IMHO, khakis are fine. I think proper attire is what you would wear in a courtroom. It doesn't have to be a suit but it can't be shorts and flipflops and it shouldn't be a cocktail dress either. My mom wore slacks and a blouse to my dad's naturalization and she's pretty spiffy. mamato3 all-boy boys
Thanks, Ladies. I haven't owned a suit since my mom "dressed" me for college scholarship application interviews/ acceptance ceremonies -- I'm just not that type of person. I must admit, I'm not much of a clothes fiend so my wardrobe is limited to our casual/ relaxed church clothes and my charcol gray wedding/funeral dress that I've had since my oldest ds was born LOL! I decided I wanted us all to wear red, white and blue, so we all have variations on that theme -- I found a blue jumper for my self with a red shirt underneath. I can't believe I still have this jumper -- I guess I was hoping it would come back into style someday; I don't think it has, but I'll wear it for patriotism's sake anyway!
