mystika1
Hi, I would like to know what is your favorite unit study curriculum? I am currently using Galloping the Globe but will need something for later and like to plan ahead. I have done volumes 1-3 of Fiar with her already and loved it. I do have volume 4 and the beyond volumes but would like to look at all of my options. I am a christian but do not need a curriculum that revolves around the bible.(I do bible studies before we begin our school day.) I have math and grammar already selected so I don't necessarily need these two subjects integrated. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Penny
Susie in MS
I don't know if I could pick a fav cuz I like these all in diff ways. Love FIAR. We are on our second rowing of 1-3 and I get excited about vol 4 as well. I do have Beyond and will probably do those between other units. So what else do I like/love: Prairie Primer. Portraits of an American Girlhood Learning Adventures for olders History Revealed. ETA: Also for olders Where the Brook and RIver Meet. Love it! thowell
For us hands down would be Learning Adventures. We used the first volume and loved it!! We did jump ship early to American History because dd7 is very sensitive and had a hard time with Ancient history. However, when we get back around I would chose this again and again for unit studies!!

ErinD
Intellego. Hands down, it's the best we've done yet and I love that the activities are varied and use all the learning styles over the course of the study. I've been testing a review copy of Ancient Rome and we like it so much that I've already bought the next one (The Great Lakes). There's a first-day-impressions post on my blog as well. For younger kids, definitely FIAR.

kristinannie
I really like the idea of unit studies. I went to a couple of Amanda Bennett's talks at the HS convention in SC and she made a lot of sense. I am a little intimidated by it though! I am going to look up all of these suggestions! :bigear::bigear::bigear:
