Halftime Hope
Ds is graduating in a couple of weeks. He is simply "finishing", without any fanfare, no graduation ceremony or event to attend, per his desire. He may have a small, celebratory laser tag outing with his close buds, but that is all. However, there are family, old family friends, etc. whom we *should* inform, rite of passage and all that. I think?? How do we let them know, without inviting them to anything, without--especially--it coming across awkwardly. We certainly do not want to solicit anything. A note of congratulations would be nice, *if* the person desired to send them. Thanks for your input!
Chris in VA
Well, that's what announcements are for. You could just send out a pretty notecard or go ahead and buy "real" announcements the same place public schools do. Just word it like you want--something like, Mr. and Mrs. so and so are pleased to announce the graduation of their son, Blah Blah from Blahblah Homeschool (use the title of your school, or just say, From High School List the Date. Add maybe a nice quote or bible verse to the bottom. You can enclose a small picture if you did a Senior picture. That's all we are planning. Alyce
My dd will have a cap and gown ceremony but it will be out of town so no one will go except us. It's mostly just to make her feel better. To get the word out to family, friends and acquaintances we are sending announcements. We bought ours from homeschooldiploma.com and are really please with them. They are cheaper than the high school retail outlets and you can personalize them the way you want. They have examples to give you suggestions but you basically decide what to put on them. I like them too because they are oriented to homeschoolers and therefore know what we need better. Depending on how many you want you can expect to spend anywhere from $50 on up. They are very quick with the printing too. I recieved our order within 10 days of ordering them.
