Poll - How much land is your residence on?

Just a quarter-section (160 acres). In farm terms, that's kind of small, but not tiny. In residential lot terms, it's freakin' ginormous.

We live on 80 acres with neighbors all around and nothing smaller than a 40 acre parcel in the neighborhood. The terrain makes the 80 acres feel like less than 5 acres of usable land. The kids do not play ball on our postage stamp of flat unless they want to fetch the ball down in the creek.

That's us. Ds moved out and a new phase of life begins. We will be moving to a small peach orchard closer to dh's work. At least I won't have to make a transition to a suburban neighborhood - yet. I am used to the wide open spaces.

Our house is on 5 acres, we also own 5 acres across the road.

We're renting a typical quarter acre block at the moment. Hopefully they never oblige me to live anywhere smaller again or I might suffocate and die. I grew up on a third of an acre, so anything smaller seems woefully inadequate. It doesn't matter so much while we are renting, because I can't do much to improve it.

None. We live in a rented apartment up in a high-rise building in the middle of the concrete jungle.

We have 1/3 of an acre which is twice the size of our last place. Our neighborhood has some of the bigger lot sizes available in our area. We opted not to live on more land farther out as we would not want the maintenance involved and we like being in a neighborhood. It's quiet all week while everyone is at work or school or daycare so we only see our friends on the weekends anyway. We are the only homeschoolers in our neighborhood.

Hardly any. I can practically reach out my kitchen window and borrow a cup of sugar from my neighbor!

I have a very small back yard, and behind me is common land where my kids play but is not "mine." I also live near parks.

 

I do not live on a farm.

We live in the boonies so we have over 3 acres ... just about everyone here has land.

 

Of course we don't have a Wal-mart and I drive 30 minutes to get to Starbucks, but I don't have to lock my doors when I leave home. I can live with it. :D
