Guest Christinethecurious
Our tape recorder broke, and they are not so common anymore. We do have an mp3 player that can record, but it is complex, and even my teen aged son gets confused at how to use it. I'd like to record things for my not-reading-yet son to memorize...I'm getting bored of memory work time and reading it all everyday myself! Kuovonne
We use an old iPhone that doesn't have service. Before that we used an earlier model iPod Nano that had a built in microphone. You could also use your computer to record the selections and then transfer the recordings to your mp3 player.
mcconnellboys
I still find tape recorders at Wal-mart and I've found tapes at even more locations. They used to be only $5, but are suddenly $25 now, oh well..... I still record things weekly....

Researcher
You can find digital voice recorders in many office supply stores and amazon. We have one similar to this Olympus Digital Recorder and have been very happy with it.

Finnella
We were able to find a small supply of tape recorders at Radio Shack. Most of them were for the tiny tapes, but we did find two models that used regular sized cassette tapes. And then they had a larger supply of digital recorders. Dmmetler
I have an Olympus Digital recorder-the kind doctors use to take notes. You just take if off lock, and after that push one button to record and one to stop. You can upload the audio files via a USB cable to a computer, too. I've had mine at least 5 years, and use it for not only DD but for my preschool music students, and it's held up well. I think I go through maybe one battery a year.
