Can someone help me choose a Bible verse for this? Losing a father.

Recommended Posts

I am making a slide show on a DVD for my best friend for ber birthday.

She lost her dad suddenly, with whom she was very close to, in December.

I would like to put a Bible verse prior to the start of the slide show which will be pix of her and her dad.

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you

Well, it isn't a bible verse, it is St. Augustine, from Confessions:

"Man is made to live in communion with God in whom he finds happiness: When I am completely united to you, there will be no more sorrow or trials; entirely full of you, my life will be complete."

In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. John 14:2-3

13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I was just trying to hunt this down as well.:) I believe it is in I Thessalonians 4.

John 11:25-26 "

“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

“And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never dieâ€

Isaiah 25:8

"He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

1 Cor. 15:22

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
