kiki
Insurance won't cover ST. Ds 8.5 has expressive and receptive issues and doesn't have the r sound. The school also will not do anything so what do I do? Right now we can not afford to pay for speech as we are paying for VT. TIA, Kirstin
GymboFroggie
Do you have a friend who is a speech therapist who could do an evaluation and give you exercises to do at home? Can you see if you qualify through the public school system? Have you googled the internet to see if there are any books on doing ST at home? Best wishes to you!!! chiguirre
This might be worth checking out: http://nathhan.org/ResourceRoom/straight_talk.htm I've heard it mentioned several times, but my hser doesn't have articulation issues, so I've never used it. GymboFroggie
He will not qualify through the schools. I will google it. Oh, so sorry! You did say that. I really hope you find a good solution soon! Maybe your pediatrician would have some resource ideas for you?
Laurie
If there's a speech pathology program you might be able to get services through their clinic. Also, like Cadam suggested, check out Shriners. I've heard good things about their speech therapy services.
