PinkInTheBlue
My big guys are almost 12 and 10. I've read the reviews, but I'm still undecided. Have you seen it? How would you rate it? Thanks!
j.griff
DH and I saw it Friday night, I LOVED IT!!!!!!! We are planning to take the kids to see it next week when he is on leave. I liked it much better than Spiderman movies. But, I haven't ever read the comics. :) There is one very quick bedroom scene, but I didn't notice any language or gore. Obviously there is violence. Amy in Orlando
I haven't seen it, but two of my sons went with the neighbors. They all enjoyed the movie, though the adult neighbors who attended were a little surprised by how violent it was.
PinkInTheBlue
Ok, so you'd say better than Spiderman. Wow, ok, thanks! The guys were much smaller but the first Spiderman was a bit intense for them back then. :)
TXMomof4
DH and I LOVED it also! At the end of 2 hours I still wasn't ready for it to end. I wouldn't hesitate to take the older girls. My 6 and 8 yo have seen spiderman....this wasn't as scary as that I didn't think.
j.griff
Yeh- I was weary of letting my Littles watch Spiderman on DVD recently, but we let them. The Green Goblin was intense for them though- and I figured it would be. I would rank Iron Man up there with the recent Transformers movie, but still better (IMO). While there are violent scenes, I don't think it would scare my Littles like the Goblin did.
HollyinNNV
I'm really curious about this! We told ds that he could not go because I read a review that said the movie included the "F" word and scatalogical terminology???? My ds is dying to go.....the scary parts aren't an issue for us. But what about the language?
j.griff
Language isn't really on my radar, but I usually notice if there is a lot of it, KWIM? I honestly can't remember any scenes that had foul language, and I asked my DH about it- he couldn't remember any either.
Retired
the first 15 -20 minutes of movie has the main character pick up a one night stand they show some s*x type activity and there is some language. We took my 11yo and 14yo. I had to cover the 11 yo eyes a couple of times. I thought we were going to have to leave but it cleaned up after that. We loved the movie. Just thought you would want to know about the beginning.
Chris in VA
Ds 18 took me to it yesterday for Mother's Day. It is violent, but with more explosions/war stuff than lots of blood. Be sure to stay until after the credits for a brief but important scene.
ChristyB in AL
...oldest son has been counting down the days til it opened. (They are 15 and 16.) Dh and I went with them to see it, and personally, I really enjoyed it!! Like the others said, the first 15-20 minutes were focused on him (Tony Stark--IronMan) being a playboy, and you get to see the change in him through the movie. I really don't remember any bad language, the one s*x scene and of course, a good bit of violence. I also think it is much better than the Spiderman movies. I would *not* let my younger kids---maybe 11-12(?) and under--- see it.
Hen
My husband went to see it Friday to preview it, our kids really want to see it. He was really disappointed, he said the first 20 minutes were not appropriate for kids. He thought the spiderman movies were better, and did a better job keeping it clean. The bedroom scene was explicit enough without technically showing alot. The kids were so worked up about seeing it, specially our ds7- that we are thinking of taking them, but going in after the first 30 minutes (counting previews).
