I need a recipe for Brownies

Recommended Posts

This is my current favorite:

1 cup all purpose flour

1 1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 eggs

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup oil (melted butter is my favorite, but veg oil will work just fine)

1/3 cup water

Combine all dry, then add in all the wet. Stir until there are no big lumps. I usually bake mine in an 11x9, but I'm sure they'd do just fine in an 8x8 (thicker) or a 13x9 (thinner) pan. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool (for as long as you can resist) before cutting into them. Good by themselves they are absolutely divine if you drizzle a chocolate ganache over the top while they're still warm and let it all cool/set.

I like the recipe on the Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate can:

2 eggs

3/4 cup of sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 cup butter, melted

3/4 cup Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate and cocoa powder

2/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 cups walnuts, chopped (I usually don't add nuts)

1 cup Ghirardelli double chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Using a spoon, stir the eggs with the sugar; Add the vanilla.

Stir in the butter. Sift the chocolate powder with the flour, baking powder and salt and stir flour mixture into the egg mixture. Add the nuts (if using) and chocoalte chips.

Spread in a greased 8 inch square pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until just set. Let cool completely.

I made these tonight! We LOVED them Thanks for sharing this great recipe. It definitely replaces the other two I have been using.
