Kathy in MD
... and what do you use for it? For grammar stage students, you teach it to both sharpen their awareness of the world around them and to appreciate the world. As an adult, I studied it at the college freshman level. I use it primarily these days to better understand the world and appreciate the nature in my backyard. However a good understanding of Natural History makes for good land use decisions by planners, architects and farmers. It also teaches how everything in nature is inter-connected and how changing one item can radically change things that seem totally unconnected. I should note that the courses I took stressed more field work and local identification than the typical university course in environmental science would.
