Any simple books for kids about the Chinese Cultural Revolution?

I am reading Red Scarf Girl and dd11 wants to read it too but first I'd like us to do a little simple background on the setting of the book. Just something basic, and definitely with pictures. Thanks.

After that I'm envisioning us reading the younger version of Mao's Last Dancer, also in that setting. (Dd is a ballet dancer.)
