blondeviolin
Does anyone use something different? I'm not quite sure where I would hang or store a whiteboard of this size... :001_huh:
Lisa in the UP of MI
The reason that they suggest such a large one is so that there is enough room to spread the tiles across the top. The letters a-z make a full line along the top of the white board. I store mine on top of my refrigerator.
Momma H
USE the refrigerator!
In2why
Does anyone use something different? I'm not quite sure where I would hang or store a whiteboard of this size... :001_huh: I use our smaller whiteboard. I have the consonants across the top and the vowels underneath. It works okay, but I might need to get the bigger board once we add all of the tiles. We are getting ready to begin level 3, and it depends on just how many more we will put up. Daisy
USE the refrigerator! :iagree: Just use the refrigerator. Then have a small white board for when they need to practice writing out words/sounds.
Irishmommy
We use a set of nesting cookie sheets that I got from the dollar store (I think). All of our tiles fit on three sheets and then we just put them up to store them (out of the hands of the toddler). ;)
Leav97
You could use any flat surface for the tiles. But, you would have to set them up every time. If you have a place to leave them, all set up, when not in use it is easier.
blondeviolin
Thanks! We have a billion smaller-sized whiteboards that I can use for writing. Maybe I'll just make a fabric covered magnetic board for her room and keep it out of sight.
PeterPan
Cookie sheet. Store the tiles in a baggie.

If you have a place to leave them, all set up, when not in use it is easier. My son dreads setting them up in Alphabetical order every day. I't sooo nice to be able to leave them up on the white board and just take them down and redo them once a week or so. I've heard of folks sliding their whiteboard underneath their couch when not in use. I have mine hanging (by a wire cord) on an "over the door" holder. I velcroed it in place to the door (landlord won't let us put holes in the wall). The nice thing about this is that we can use it for memory verses, math corrections, etc. by always having a whiteboard up.:)
siloam
Here is our 17 x 23 white board. The kids have no problem making up words in the space left, and I store it in between two bookshelves on its side. Heather
MerryAtHope
Does anyone use something different? I'm not quite sure where I would hang or store a whiteboard of this size... :001_huh: I reoriented mine vertically so I could hang it on a closet door that's in our school area. I didn't have any wall space otherwise. Merry :-)
EKS
I stored ours in the space between the desk and the bookshelf next to it.

I am so glad I got the big white board. I was going to suggest storing it under the couch or placing it behind a bookshelf when not in use. We slide ours out from behind the bookshelf everyday.
