jer2911mom
I keep hearing that Singapore makes "conceptual leaps" compared to Math Mammoth and Math in Focus. Can you please explain what this means exactly and perhaps provide an example? Thanks!
abrightmom
:bigear: I've wondered the same thing. Thanks for asking. :bigear:
Crimson Wife
I noticed most in the chapter in 3A teaching multi-digit multiplication and long division. Maria Miller in the "blue" MM worktexts Multiplication 2 and Division 2 walks the child through these difficult concepts step-by-step-by-step gradually over several sections. Singapore throws it all at the child at once. Even with the HIG, I knew there was no way that I was going to be able to explain it to my DD in a way that she'd be able to understand. So I had her work through MM first.
Wildwood
I'd be interested to hear from others as well.
