Jean in La
DD,8 is struggling with math. We started the year off with Lifepacs for math. That was horrible! I found Mastering Mathematics. We switched mid year. While she is finally remembering her addition facts, I'm worried about us getting stuck in one place for too long. It's not laid out like a normal curriculum. I've started looking at Singapore or CLE. Any thoughts on either program? Thanks!:bigear:
Mallorie
Well, we love CLE, and it's cheap enough to buy one light unit and see how it goes. I don't know the price of singapore, but I don't believe it's very expensive either? I think you'll get a mixed bag of responses on this one. :)
nicurn
Singapore is not expensive, but if you have a child that sturggles with math I don't know that I would pick it as my spine. Singapore moves quickly and does not have alot of review in it. I have used Singapore with all 3 of my boys and absolutely LOVE it, but with my youngest son he is just not getting enough review to solidify and retain what he has learned.(We use the text, workbook, extra practice, CWP, and IP) He is in the 2B books and even though we are still plugging along in his singapore books, I have just recently bought CLE and am piggybacking that into the Singapore. Mommy22alyns
I'd say CLE, agreeing with PP that if your dc is struggling with math, Singapore might not be the best choice.
