Memorizing a Timeline.... If you've done that, what do you suggest?

 

I'd like one around 150-170 points, if possible.

 

I'm thinking it'd be nice to start with only actually memorizing part a year, but not set on that.

:lurk5::bigear: I read about this last night in The Core, and I was wondering, too. I have NO dates memorized from my own education, and I'd like my kids to do slightly better than I did. :tongue_smilie:

I have 100 dates that I required my kids to memorize. When we were first learning them, I typed up 10 at a time to learn in our regular a.m. memory time. Once those were learned well, they got 10 more. The ones already learned are put in our review rotation (with our poetry, scripture, etc.). This method has worked well for us.

When we first began homeschooling 13 years ago, we memorized the cards of the VP cycle. However, we've not kept it up and I think they remember only the critical dates. :tongue_smilie: But, I hope to do it again with my youngest two in the next few years and will use the VP cards (history only; not Bible).
