meakaimom
I am using the two week free trial from Reading Eggs. Has anyone used this program to help with reading skills at home? I looked at Explode the Code first but the reviews from people that purchased the program were disappointed. Any other suggestions for online phonics program/games? Thanks Tricia
kristin0713
Funnix was free during January, I'd check to see if they are still running the promotion. It is the online version of Teach Your Child to Read in 100 EZ Lessons.
Guest my2monkeys
We use progressivephonics.com I also use Explode the Code - but the workbooks, not online.
Sherry in OH
Have you looked at Starfall.com?
Farrar
Funnix isn't an online program though - just a sort of computer guide and I think it's no longer free anyway. It's not like Reading Eggs, that's for sure. ETC Online is a big waste. Don't do it. But the workbooks are good. Progressive Phonics is a nice jumpstart for a young kid, IMO. However, it's also not an online program. It's more like a free printable program online - or your can just read the materials on the computer, which is what my son and I did back when we used it. Starfall is good. Some people like the premium version. But I feel like most people I know who do online reading, use Reading Eggs.
ElizabethB
Most of them have more sight words than I like. The exception is Read, Write, Type, and its follow on, Wordy Querty. My son is using Read, Write, Type right now in combustion with Webster's Speller. http://www.talkingfingers.com/
