mom2boys030507
I am putting together a proposal to use Jr. First Lego League as the basis for science for 1st and 2nd graders in our co-op next year. I think there will be three teams and they will show their creations and Show Me boards at our Christmas and Spring Concerts. So, we would do two challenges per year. Most likely the current challenge in the fall and then pick an old challeng for the spring. Has anyone else ever done this? If you have ever participated in Jr. First Lego League what has your experience been like?
tjarnold
I have a friend who runs a Jr. FIRST Lego League for 6-9yos, though not in a co-op setting. She's told me that the kids (all boys) LOVE the experience, but the lesson plans seem a little weird. Also, my 13yo son participates in FIRST Lego League, and he's had a great experience. Capt_Uhura
We've had 2 or 3 Junior FLL teams. It was great fun. I just did it w/ my 2 boys, and a 2 friends. All boys....very chaotic and loud but they enjoyed it and learned a lot about problem solving in a group, making decisions as a group.
