pink eye medication (over/counter or health store ??)

Recommended Posts

I don't have a very high opinion of the OTC pinkeye drops--they have been both painful and ineffective in our home.

My dr is usually very willing to prescribe for pinkeye over the phone rather than dragging us in for an office visit. Can you try calling and asking them to just call in the scrip to your pharmacy of choice? Make sure you have the # handy to tell them.

Finally, my dr also recommends that you wash both eyes every 2-3 hours. Put just a drop of baby shampoo into a baby food jar (or other approximate sized vessel) and stir. Dip cotton ball in soapy water and wash eyes, using a fresh cotton ball for each eye. Rinse eyes and dry.
