mom2scouts
I've had 10 pregnancy losses although some were late enough to be considered stillbirths. Seven of my losses were in the second trimester and three were early in the pregnancy (6-10 weeks).
lmkzbcb
Again, thank you ladies very much. I have been debating on going to a Reproductive Endocrinologist.
Jackie in AR
I had one miscarriage between my two dds, and my older dd possibly had a twin whose sac closed up pretty early on (couldn't tell for sure on the ultrasound).
wapiti
Again, thank you ladies very much. I have been debating on going to a Reproductive Endocrinologist. :grouphug: My advice would be to see more than just an RE. I'd see a Reproductive Immunologist, an expert in recurrent pregnancy loss. Reproductive immunology is still rather controversial amongst REs. Last I checked, there were only a handful of such experts nationally - a very small world. Most of them consult with patients long-distance, via phone, fed-ex-ing bloodwork, etc. I can recommend: this yahoo group http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/immunologysupport/ Dr. Carolyn Coulam http://www.illinoisivf.com/physicians.html her lab, Millenova http://www.millenova.com/tests/preglosspan.cfm The Sher Institute http://haveababy.com/causes-of-infertility/immune-factors.html the clinic of the late Dr. Beer http://www.repro-med.net/repro-med-site2/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34&Itemid=11 and another guy whose name escapes me at the moment. I'm sure something has changed in the years since I was dealing with this (my issue involved implantation failure rather than recurrent pregnancy loss, but the mechanisms are sometimes the same) Edited February 17, 2011 by wapiti
melmichigan
I would definately follow up with a specialist. I lost two pregnancies before we found our specialists, a three hour drive from us in Grand Rapids. I credit them with my being able to carry my oldest DD, my surviving twins from my triplet pregnancy, and the following two pregnancies, resulting in my boys. My last pregnancy was ectopic, that is the loss I struggle with the most right now. :grouphug:
LMD
I've had one miscarriage, my first pregnancy, as a 19 y/o newlywed. It really threw me, I didn't see it coming at all. I've never been able to fall pregnant naturally since, and the year long TTC after it before falling pregnant with my DD was terrifying. mom2scouts
I would also recommend a reproductive immunologist. I was able to have two children after all my losses using treatments developed by Dr Beer. I was a patient of the late Dr Beer for many years and I would recommend his clinic. He was the most caring and amazing doctor I've ever worked with. He died just days after my last consult with him. :(
Dawn in Ohio
I've had three miscarriages. After three healthy pregnancies, I lost a baby at 15 weeks. Then I lost a girl at 21 weeks. My doctor did some blood work after that and I was diagnosed with a clotting disorder. For my next pregnancy, I was on blood thinners throughout and carried DS to term. Next pregnancy was an ectopic pregnancy. Then another successful pregnancy while on blood thinners. After my second loss, I dealt with lots of guilt, anger, depression, etc. It was really hard. I'm sorry you are going through this.
Jennifer in MI
I lost three between number 3 and 4. It was horrible. We always wanted a big family and we "only" got 4 live births.
kwickimom
I had one at 14 weeks. Baby stopped developing after 10 weeks. My body never would get rid of it, so I had to have a D&C. :-( It was between my first and second dc. Still makes me cry.
