plain jane
I've always had issues with my Mac printing Adobe files but it's getting ridiculous now and I don't know how to fix it. I have the latest version of Adobe and all the proper printer drivers installed. I can print from my Mac to my printer just fine- it's just Adobe documents that don't print well. Oh sure, they print, but it takes literally 5 minutes (sometimes longer) for one page to be printed. :glare: And I'm talking simple black and white pages, minimal graphics. When I'm printing 100 pages, that is a LOT of wasted time. If I print off the Windows computer I can have an entire 100 page document printed in the time it takes to print 3 pages from my Mac. :glare: I've taken it into the Mac store, but of course, they don't have the same printer as me and so Adobe works just fine there. The weird thing is, as I mentioned, everything else prints just fine from my Mac, just not Adobe. I don't know what to do. Getting a new printer is not really an option at this time since we have a color laser all-in-one that cost me $800. It works just fine with our Windows computer (but I'm attempting to go all Mac) and it prints regular documents off Mac- again, just not Adobe. I don't really want to get a printer just for Mac Adobe documents because I don't have the room for one, even if I did have $100 to just throw at a printer right now. Another issue I'm having is I can't get Saxon Teacher to work on either of my Macs. I can't figure out why. :( Any chance somebody here can offer some help? I'm trying so hard to love Mac. I do think they're far more reliable than PC but as I sit here waiting for my document to print and have 4 pages done in the last 20 min, I know it's going to be a long day. :( My dd also can't go ahead and do her math lessons and overall, I'm just frustrated. Sigh.
Plink
Is your printer wireless? I need to physically connect the computer to the printer in order to print large documents with layers, Adobe Photoshop being the biggest culprit. HTH! Jenny in Atl
Only thing I can think of is maybe a funny printer setting? Both my Mac's print Adobe files just fine. I have an Epson & HP. Is the Saxon Teacher for your version of OS X (Safari, Leopard & Snow Leopard)?
Plink
Hmmm... Do you have the latest printer driver installed? Check for updates at your printer's manufacturer website.
Tylianna
I had the same problem with my pc and an HP printer. It would take forever to print or it would pause while printing. I did buy a new printer because I needed a laser printer. Only thing I can think of is that my printer didn't have enough memory or had a spooling issue. I just wanted to post to let you know that it probably isn't the Mac since I have windows.
