k2bdeutmeyer
Any non-sweet recipes that are fun for Valentine's day? I'm looking for something fun to make for the kids for lunch. I'd prefer it not to be sandwiches (just not in the mood), it can't be heart shaped pizza (that's what we're doing for dinner), and not breakfast food (we just did heart shaped, pink pancakes for breakfast). I know, I know.....I'm picky. So, any fun ideas? Pink, red, heart shaped.....?!? (Bonus points if it can be modified to be dairy free for DS)
LidiyaDawn
I was going to suggest putting a few drops of red food colour into milk & yoghurt to make pink/red 'valentines colour' stuff, but that doesn't work for your kiddo who needs dairy-free.... unless you have dairy-free versions of those things... Hey, it could work with mashed potatoes maybe too.. bright red/pink mashed taters formed into the shape of a heart with an arrow made from.. hmm. Maybe pretzels? Breadsticks? Laurie4b
Heart-shaped grilled cheese? (I know--that is a sandwich). Would heart-shaped hamburgers count as a sandwich? BTW, I love your heart-shaped pizza idea. I'm going to use that one tonight!
k2bdeutmeyer
I didn't end up finding anything worthwhile in time for our lunch, but did find this after the fact and thought it was super cute! http://hoosierhomemade.com/valentines-day-food-ideasbreakfast-lunch-and-dinner/
