moonlight
So, I just discovered that there were Latin programs with DVDs!! The joy! Are any of them secular Latin programs? We use SSL now and I have Minimus that we might do next, but I'm tempted for a DVD version program or even Latin DVDs that we can use to supplement? Thanks, Seema
Dmmetler
LfC is theoretically Christian, but it's Christian at the same level SSL is-which means not very. A couple of the chapter Maxims are from scripture (but more are from Classical Latin writings), and there are sections on Jesus in the history reader, along with Nero, Julius Caesar and other Roman figures, but they're pretty brief. The Apostles Creed in Latin is at the end of book 1, but isn't part of a lesson (we haven't used book 2 or 3 yet).
JudoMom
You might want to check out Visual Latin :).

Dmmetler
Latin For CHildren-the same publisher as Song School Latin, but at a higher level with a strong grammatical focus. The DVDs are wonderful.
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
We used the Latin Primer series with DVDs. There didn't seem to be any religious teaching, there were some quotes or partial Bible quotes used occasionally in translations. The Latin itself was classical pronunciation. Violet Crown
Artes Latinae has switched to a DVD format. An excellent program, designed by a classicist, which has successfully brought my dd15 to a competent Latin-reading level. You can go as fast or as slow as you need to, and I've used it successfully for two children starting at age 7. It's expensive, but cheaper than buying several Latin programs in search of one that works. Completely secular.
