Homeschooling6
For those using Pattern Based Writing. Yesterday, I had Joshua, do the timed essay. Today he'll start Pattern 1: The A, B, C Sentence. I was wondering how much do you have your child do a day. Today, will be Joshua's second day and I'm having him read page 9 and do page 10. Tomorrow should he do page 11 only, or 11 and 12 then move to Pattern 2: The Secret A, B, C Sentence???
1Togo
We did one page a day through Pattern 1. Then, we did the reading for Pattern 2 on one day and did one page per day of the practice for the rest of Pattern 2. For Pattern 3, we did the reading and one page per day. Same for Pattern 4. When we got to Pattern 5, we read and discussed the information for two days. Then, we did the Warm-up Pracice (1/4) in one day. Now we are working through the Pattern 5 Practice by writing and editing one paragraph per day, which will take about a month. I expect Pattern 6 to take a week. When we get to Pattern 7, which is the beginning of essays, I expect each pattern to take one to two weeks because we will practice for mastery. Thank you 1Togo, this really helps me figure out how many pages to do and how to pace.
