yellowperch
In a day or three my dss will finish their latest series, the Ranger’s Apprentice, and they will start prowling around looking for the next good thing. Any suggestions? Here’s some of the series they have already read: 39 clues, Harry Potter, Guardians of Ga’Hoole, Redwall, Warriors, Spiderwick, Peter and the StarCatchers etc., Llyod Alexander’s books, M.T. Anderson’s books, Lightening Thief. Their faves were Ranger’s Apprentice, HP and Lightening Thief. Please help me feed the beasts. Also, DD is almost done with the Cam Jansen series. She’s read the Treehouse books, Flat Stanley, the Littles. She says she loves mysteries the best, and I’m fairly certain she’d prefer a girl protagonist. Thanks for your help! kwg
My ds really enjoyed Narnia and Mysterious Benedict. Gregor the Overlander series was a big hit and he is loving the Sisters Grimm. Wizard of Oz series was a hit too. I just love book lists! I am also going to try Half Magic books and also Five Children and It. yellowperch
Trixie Belden--what a great idea. We looked at some Nancy Drew at the library this week, but I think she's not quite there yet. Soon though. Trying to figure out what's between where she is now and Little House, and the rest. The two oldest loved Narnia, and for whatever reason didn't like MBS. One guy loved Half Magic, Ginger Pye, etc. but the other (older) likes things a little less genteel--he likes danger, thrills and humor. Erica in OR
Our kids, with similar likes, have enjoyed both the Charlie Bone series and the Artemis Fowl series. Erica in OR
sunriseiz
Also, DD is almost done with the Cam Jansen series. She’s read the Treehouse books, Flat Stanley, the Littles. She says she loves mysteries the best, and I’m fairly certain she’d prefer a girl protagonist. Try the Carole Marsh "Real Kids" mysteries...there is a girl in the group I think. DD loves mysteries and loved these. Also Geronimo Stilton, Boxcar Children, The Borrowers. Not all mysteries, but adventure! Oh, also see The Happy Hollisters and Bobbsey Twins. I haven't heard of the Ranger’s Apprentice, so will be checking that out as we have the same 'problem'! If they like the Lightning Thief, check out the Red Pyramid...DD loooooved it! :) Also, the next in the series is due out soon!

I'm glad to hear she is still being enjoyed, I haven't heard her mentioned in years. :001_smile: Have your boys read Liminy Snickets?
