joannqn
I finally broke down and tried Zyrtec. I was afraid to try it after what it did to my son. I finally tried it under the right conditions, and I'm fine on it. It helped better than anything else I've tried. I added NasalCrom yesterday, and my nose is completely clear! It stuffs back up when the nasalcrom wears off but I've only been using it twice a day and only for two days. You can use it up to 4-6 times a day, for up to 12 weeks, and it takes up to a week or two before you get the full effect. You cannot guess how happy I am to be able to breathe! Ideally, I'd figure out the cause but since I've been trying to figure it out for years, this is the next best thing.
ElizabethB
Yay! Allergy shots have helped me, but there is something in our basement here. We got a good allergy filter from my parents for Christmas, and now I can go in the basement!! (The best rated one, they're a bit expensive, but it works great.) KrissiK
I'm so happy for you. I wish I could have some success myself. I have tried everything... 5 years of shots, Allegra, Zyrtec, other otc stuff, Nasonex, Flo-nase, Astelin, saline rinse and I'm still miserable. Right now. Middle of winter. My throat is raw from post-nasal drip, I'm constantly congested. My head aches. I can't figure it out.
DarcyB
I'm sorry, I know it's not funny, but am happy that you've found relief. But every time I see your title my brain reads, "I found my religion from my allergies." lol

We have HEPA on our air unit but that doesnt''t seem to help much/enough. The actual room ones (one for his bedroom, one for the family room where he spends a lot of time) have helped him so much! We got this one--very reasonably priced for the size of room it handles (and handles well) I think. joannqn
I tried a room filter once for our bedroom. It was so loud and it make the room freezing cold. I couldn't stand the noise or sleeping in a walk-in freezer so I gave it away.
