Capt_Uhura
 Today is day 1 of my FINAL recovery week of my first P90X round! WOOHOO! I ran on the treadmill for the first time in about 4 months. Let me tell you baby ..... my thighs don't even feel like I did anything!!! Neither does my calves! WOW what power in my legs! The only limited factor was my brain....after not being on the treadmill for so long, i kept getting bored with my own thoughts. Back in the day when I was a gym bunny, I could run on the treadmill for an hour! I guess I had more interesting thoughts back then besides what am I going to order from Critical Thinking Co before the free shipping expires. :001_huh: To sum up...for the 1st and 2nd training blocks, I did P90XLean program. For the 3rd training block, I did P90X classic/doubles! Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment but felt like I really needed the cardio. P90X has CURED my insomnia!! Seriously! I sleep like a baby and have so much energy. I'm going to take a week off after my recovery week. I injured a tendon in my left elbow shoveling snow/ice and it's getting worse so I'm going to start icing and taking advil to get that to heal. When I start over, I'll do P90X Classic/doubles program. I'm also replacing CardioX w/ a 2nd PlyoX and KenpoX workout. I did that this past week w/ Legs and Back on Friday and Plyo X on Saturday. It was a bit much for my legs so I have to rework the schedule. perhaps: Mon chest/back, abs, plyo X Tues kenpo X Wed shoulders/arms, abs, cardio X Thurs Yoga X Fri Legs and Back, ab, cardio X Sat Kenpo X Sun X stretch Edited February 7, 2011 by Capt_Uhura
Jennifer in MI
SO???? Pictures????? I'm on week three of Insanity. I've lost 4" total so far!!! Woohoo! I just wish I'd taken before pictures!
Capt_Uhura
WOW 4"??!!! You go girl! I haven't take after photos yet! I was fit before and really only have 10lbs to lose. I needed the increase in endurance, core strength, and intensity to help me sleep. So I was quite muscular before I started. My friend, who took my before pictures, said, "I wouldn't show those to anyone. They are likely to throw tomatoes at you." But I struggle w/ chronic anemia due to Aunt Flo and since hitting perimenopause, I've gone down to just one heavy day so I am trying to get that endurance, strength back that I lost b/c I couldn't exercise....my hemoglobin was just too low even with taking 2-3 iron tablets each day. I feel so great after doing this round of P90X! It's going to be tough to take the week off. Perhaps I'll get up and get an hour of reading done each morning instead to catch up on all the books I have out from the library.

Capt_Uhura
P90x is an extreme exercise DVD series by Tony Horton. Just google it or check out youtube. You exercise everyday for 90 days w/ a mix of resistance training (weights), yoga, cardio, jump training/plyometrics, Kenpo karate, abs and stretching.
