For those of you that have been to Prague - Where did you stay?

I found a decent hotel in Old Town but it has a night club under it - is that common in Old Town (near Charles Bridge).

Or should I go for the more expensive hotels like Pariz etc??

I stayed in hostel U melounu with friends last year. It was decent and not that expensive, but a bit off the beaten path. We had to do a little walking to get to the metro stop.

We stayed in an apartment. Ours was nice enough, but a long tram ride from the center of town.

 

You might try Old Town Apartments. That is a company that we used a couple times in Europe, though not in Prague.

Why did you all chose to stay farther out? Is Old Town 'seedy'?

I have been there once before but that was almost 20 years ago and I didn't walk or site see that much.

I stayed further out simply because it was too expensive to stay closer. :P
