In The Great White North
I have an older (40-50 years) creche set made of olive wood. It seems like the wood has dried out and I have to glue something together every year. Should I oil it? With olive oil? Or something else? secular_mom
Mineral oil- I just ordered some from Amazon to oil my wooden utensils. Folks say that olive oil and other vegetable oils will turn rancid- that could cause your figurines to smell bad.
In The Great White North
Well, that makes sense. Is it normal to need to oil something that never gets wet?
secular_mom
I think so- wood does dry out over time, whether it's being washed and dried or not.
