girligirlmom
Is 24in by 36in the recommended size? I was looking over their site and I could not find info about it. Yes. I bought 2 at Walmart for about $19 each. I have 3 children and I already owned another whiteboard. One is for Spelling, one is for Math, and one is for whatever. Mommee & Baba
We must upgrade our whiteboard. I have the med. sized one Walmart sells and we just started AAS and it's not big enough. It's about 6 letter tiles too small! :p So I'll probably pick up the larger one WM has this coming weekend :)
nukeswife
Yes, 2x3 ft. is the recommended size. I have one that size but it's an easel so it's actually turned sideways. If you check my blog pictures you can see how it's set up in a vertical fashion instead.

I don't remember who was talking about it, but we got one today and I hope it works! It was $17 for a 4x8. I have to go test it with a dry erase to make sure we got the right thing... You'll need a magnetic white board for AAS. I've never tested my DH's board to see if it's magnetic or not.
grace'smom
Mmmm... didn't think about the magnetic thing. We don't do AAS so that wasn't on my mind.
In the Rain
We got the large one from Costco. It has little dots in a grid, which makes it easy to keep the tiles straight. I'm rather obsessive about that! :tongue_smilie: It also helps the kids write straight.

Mommee & Baba
We just used a cookie sheet for level 1 and got by okay ;). That must've been a long cookie sheet! lol! I love the marker board aspect for AAS because when my dd's do their writing for spelling I let them use the marker board and it's NO fuss, no tears and they ENJOY it! The only have to do spelling writing on paper once a week and they pick the day :D Edited January 30, 2011 by mamaofblessings

JadeOrchidSong
I put them on my refrigerator so that I don't have to store the white board if I have one. The boys spell their words orally and only do the writing on white eraser board (very small hand held size). They each have one. My new 6 yr old does it with no problem along with big brother.
