SeekingSimplicity
I baked them for supper at 5pm last night, and left them out over night. So 16 hrs? Potatoes aren't going to go bad right? Think they're OK?

Laurie4b
Hazardous if they were baked in aluminum foil. I doubt if I would even if they were baked plain and left out. http://www.dec.state.ak.us/eh/old_dec/deh/sanitat/sanpotat.htm http://www.foodsafetysite.com/consumers/faq/index.html?m_knowledgebase_article=466 http://extension.psu.edu/food-safety/food-preservation/faq/baked-potatoes-and-botulism

I rarely use aluminum for anything (canned food, drinks, foil, deoderant). Back in the 80's when they said that aluminum is found in the brains of alzheimer's patients, my mom freaked out and got rid of everthing that might have aluminum. I think I'm still feeling the reverberations of that. :tongue_smilie:
Sun
I wouldn't. I've read many times that the culprit in food poisoning from potato salad is the potatoes, not the mayonnaise, so I wouldn't risk it--especially for potatoes, which are relatively cheap.
