5LittleMonkeys
I have plenty in the way of informational\non-fiction. What I need are fictional stories related to botany or just plants\flowers. Maybe a book about Audubon but in a story format. Or maybe something along the lines of The Burgess Animal Book. This would be for dd8 (2nd\3rd grade). Something with really great descriptive passages that she could use for copywork too. Thanks!

Kalmia
I love the Native American plant myths in Joseph Bruchac's Native Plant Stories My absolute favorite book for teaching botany (it is non-fiction) is Plants and Their Children by Mrs. William Starr Dana. It is beautifully written, written directly to the child, beautifully illustrated, and 100 years old (so you must buy used - Amazon has it...and handle with care). Kalmia
I just went back and checked Amazon. You're right, there were 7 used when I wrote the post. Now they are all gone! There are some quick fingers on the checkout keys at Amazon tonight!
