ChicoryChick
Could you share with me how you use it, schedule it etc. We are currently using R&S spelling which is very thorough, but with schooling 4 kids, takes a lot of time. Thought I would simplify and use McGuffey's (which I already own), but need a little more guidance with it. Would appreciate ideas, schedules etc. K

Poke Salad Annie
I do not know how to find the post, but I think someone once linked to a teaching book on Google books which described how to use the speller and also Ray's arithmetic books. Maybe run a search on the boards for Ray's or McGuffey's? Sorry I'm not more help.
ElizabethB
Here is how I use Webster's Speller with a K student. There are some threads for using it with an older child, the good ones are tagged "Webster's speller" in a tag. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208407 They are similar enough to use in the same way.
