Would BFIAR be too much for a 3-4 year old?

She really, really wants to do school :tongue_smilie:. She is pretty mature for a 3-year-old (I was hoping to do SL Pre-K 4/5 with her, the sample looked right, and she loves her Get Ready/Set/Go For The Code books) but I was also really interested in BFIAR.

I had BFIAR and then sold it after not doing much with it. Why? We had read most of the books already and there isn't that much in the guide. Do you talk about stories while you are reading them? Do you point out the pictures to your child? If you answered yes to those questions, then I don't think that you will get much use out of BFIAR. Just my opinion though.

I am doing B4FIAR with my 3 yr old. It's perfect for her. She really loves having some "school" to do like her big sister. We had already read some of the books, but we are also doing lapbooks for each book (from Homeschool Share), so it seems like it's something new and exciting.

I agree with a previous poster about doing BFIAR with the lapbooks on Homeschool Share--especially if you have a child who likes crafts. I also like Ami's blog--lots of BFIAR book ideas too.

BFIAR also suggests making animal cards for some of the books. My son really likes doing activities with animal cards--sorting, alphabet stuff, etc. Some of the cards we found on Homeschool Share and others I printed photos I found internet.
